Welcome to Rhizosphere 6

We are looking forward to welcoming the global rhizosphere research community to Edinburgh for Rhizosphere 6 in June 2025.  The meeting will foster exchange, interaction and communication and provide a platform for discussion of new discoveries and developments in the field of the rhizosphere.  Our ethos will be to promote diversity and inclusion and give a platform to early career researchers and those from the global south.

The conference will showcase the latest advances in our understanding of the below ground world of plant roots and their interactions with the soil physical, chemical and biological environment under a changing climate. Therefore, the program will reflect the three most important global challenges facing society today, climate change, biodiversity loss, and agricultural and environmental sustainability, and demonstrate the fundamental role rhizosphere research has in helping address these problems.

The science and management of the rhizosphere is constantly evolving with changing environmental pressures and resource efficiency challenges.  Understanding and evidence is the basis for good decision making and requires the cooperation and global collective effort of our research communities.   Rhizosphere 6 will provide a supportive forum for this and we welcome you all to Edinburgh to join us for this exciting and timely gathering!
